Business Development & Sales Manager – Renewables

The Business Development & Sales Manager is responsible for sourcing business in local commercial markets and for supervising and organizing the sales team in both local domestic and commercial markets. In the Business Development function, they are responsible for driving business growth through sourcing, proposing, and concluding commercial opportunities for B2B clients. In the Sales Management Function, they are responsible for recruiting, training, developing, and leading the sales team in achieving business growth as per the company’s business plan within the set timeframes.

Core Responsibilities

Business Development
· Develop a network of contacts to attract new clients and new potential
· Drive the opportunity pipeline, including identifying new opportunities and researching new market opportunities
· Make business development projections and forecast revenue in line with projected income
· Champion and embed best practice business development methodologies, processes, and systems
· Carry regular competitor analysis, market trends analysis, and new technology discovery
· Collaborate with various teams in business development activities for high-value and/or strategically important opportunities, including attending client meetings and participating in contractual and commercial negotiations
· Ensure messages and learnings from client feedback are shared and acted upon to help increase opportunity conversion and client satisfaction
· Coordinate and contribute to the development of strategies for the proactive client and partner management, including best practice account planning, relationship management, and monitoring and reporting

Sales Management
· Managing organisational sales by developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls
· Meeting planned sales targets for the domestic sales team, commercial sales team & own
· Setting individual sales targets for the sales team
· Tracking sales goals and reporting results regularly
· Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team
· Coordinating with marketing on lead generation and sales strategies
· Promoting the organization and products
· Understand the ideal customers and how these relate to the company’s products

Skills Required
· A minimum of 4-Years’ experience in managing and training a sales team
· Management Degree is desirable
· A positive, confident, and determined approach

· Demonstrate a clear knowledge of how to generate results in a commercial environment
· Experience in sales and revenue generation in both B2C and B2B environments
· Desire to build team/people management capabilities.
· Excellent account/customer management skills
· Ability to think strategically, particularly with regards to problem-solving / issue management
· Desire to be an integral part of a team looking to put the customer first
· A full and clean driving license
· Good command of written and verbal Maltese & English languages
· Not scared of heights &/or climbing ladders
