Electrical Technicians
Role purpose
Troubleshooting, fixing, carrying out repairs of electrical faults, and carrying out installations on solar photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, solar water heaters, and others. Managing all on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and test tasks, diagnosing errors or technical problems, and determining proper solutions
The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows
• Provide service and customer support during on-site visits
• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Produce timely and detailed service reports
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner
• Attend to faults and breakdowns of building services, plant, equipment, installations, appliances, etc. in a prompt manner.
• Carry out fault identification and localisation and subsequent repair works on various projects
• Provides preventive maintenance
• Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organisation
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
• Build positive relationships with customers and assist with any queries
• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Comply with service standards and work instructions
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
• A technical-related diploma, such as a Higher Technical Diploma or an Ordinary Technical Diploma, or equivalent are essential
• Previous experience in a technical-related post would be desirable
• Previous experience in the renewable energy sector would be desirable
• Able to communicate in English both verbal and written
• Be computer literate
• Have good attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• Have good organizational skills
