Role Purpose
The Quantity Surveyor responsible for Billing will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely billing. This role involves preparing,
monitoring, and managing project budgets, costs, and contracts to ensure financial efficiency and compliance. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate
measurement and valuation of works.
The key duties and responsibilities of the role
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Develop and manage billing schedules, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
• Measure and value construction work, including materials, labour, and equipment.
• Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications to clients and contractors.
• Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying any discrepancies or variances.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of work completed.
• Prepare and review contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Negotiate and manage variations, claims, and disputes with contractors and clients.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project documentation.
• Provide financial and contractual advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying and billing for construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, costs, and financial management.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
